Monsters Of Rock

…‘serious rock n roll by the best in the business!’

With over 100 years of collective experience and over 10,000 live concerts and performances between them …  Monsters of Rock Down Under are the brand new ‘super group’ featuring a line up of Australian Rock Royalty.

Playing original songs, indeed classics, from their extensive and legendary catalogues including Screaming Jets, Rose Tattoo, Faceplant and Billy Thorpe, it’s almost impossible to imagine the depth and wealth of adventure (and indeed shenanigans), which they have experienced.

Screaming Jets founder/songwriter/ guitarist Grant Walmsley, reunites on stage with Screaming Jets Drummer Craig ‘Rosie’ Rosevear as one of the countries most lethal and loved guitar/drums combo of all time!  And its guitar hero fest too! Walmsley and Rose Tattoo guitarist Dai Pritchard, two of Australia’s most respected axe men, come out swinging with their Marshall amps and Gibson guitars … argh! … And the highly acclaimed Paul Coxon from classic 90’s grunge band Faceplant completes the super group on bass.

With three lead singers, (all front men of their own bands), sharing the vocal duties and fun at the front of the stage, the truly powerhouse drumming from ‘Rosie’ makes this the rock experience you cannot miss.

GRANT WALMSLEY – Screaming Jets founder, guitarist and songwriter of over half of the entire Jets catalogue including the ‘Aussie anthem’ and certified classic ‘Better’. Having earned more gold and platinum records than can cover his studio walls he has toured and lived all over the world sharing the stage with a ‘who’s who’ of the biggest and best … Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Kiss, Soundgarden, Robert Plant, Brian May, Def Lepard, Black Crowes, Sting, Brian Adams, Ozzy… the list goes on … he and ‘Rosie’ are one of the countries most lethal and loved guitar / drums combos of all time and have been best mates for decades, still thriving on their shared passion for rocking!

CRAIG ‘ROSIE’ ROSEVEAR – Screaming Jets drummer extraordinaire, and creator of Rosie’s School of Rock, Rosie and Grant were just kids when they began playing pubs in the mid 80’s. By the time they were of legal age they were considered veterans of the scene. Los Angeles in the early 90’s saw the pair begin pre production for an upcoming Jets US tour and new album laying the foundation for what has proved to be chemistry unrivalled. The pair formed a natural unique guitar/drum musical pairing not unlike the Richards/Watts and Page/Bonham style. Rosie returned to Australia from a later stint living in Los Angeles to build his School of Rock and form ‘rockabilly’ group Retro Rockets before reigniting local legends DV8 and continues to be a driving force as a musician and visionary.

DAI PRITCHARD  - Rose Tattoo guitarist and legendary session guitarist whose credits include Billy Thorpe, Doug Parkinson, Swannee and the Long Way to the Top band.  He has played with Slash and toured the world sharing stages with Guns n Roses, ZZ Top and the largest European rock festivals. Dai teamed up with Grant Walmsley recently at the ‘invite only’ Experience Jimi Hendrix concerts as part of the global Hendrix Experience movement.

PAUL COXON – Faceplant founder, singer, songwriter and bassist, Paul has been one of most gifted natural musicians from a young age leading ‘the Kids’ at the age of 13. Being the son of professional musician parents he has lived music all of his life. His band Faceplant became a much sort after band in the early 90’s when their debut CD gained the attention of managers and record companies as well as a loyal following. They lead the local charge and grunge rock scene and have become synonymous with the landscape of that era.  Paul continues to be a journeyman and leading musician when not stacking motorbikes.
